Protection & Performance

Production delays are costly. Not only are they costly, but they’re frustrating, especially when those delays are preventable. Our coatings work to prevent delays caused by poor mold release, material buildup, improper alignment due to component wear, residue deposits, inadequate flow due to friction, and many other hurdles to high productivity.
We eliminate these hurdles through the application of nanocomposite coatings.

Wear

Mechanical components like those found in injection molding processes suffer from wear. Traditionally wear has been fought by using harder materials and wet lubrication, each of which has its limitations and drawbacks. UPT coatings, specifically our proprietary P51+, have been shown to reduce wear.

How? Coating a mold or other component increases its surface hardness, decreases its coefficient of friction, and make it self-lubricating.

Corrosion

Corrosion is a constant enemy to mold performance. Corrosion can occur from thermoplastic decomposition, water contact, condensation on mold surfaces, cooling water pH imbalance, and other environmental conditions. Because corrosion is persistent and progressive, it's best to prevent it from starting.

How? Our battlefield tested coatings have been proven to prevent corrosion in some of the harshest environments on the planet.
